Ariel. I share your optimism and I expect to be promoting you as a teacherpreneur in 2030 (when you will be a mere 50 years of age - and by then - the new 30). I heard the Secretary on the webinar. I agree with your assessment. But somehow I do not think he fully understands the call for 600, 000 teacherpreneurs, truly blurring the lines of distinction between those who teach in schools and those who lead them. I am suspect because he SAID that the TIF grants encourage this type of rethinking of the profession. This is not a reality.. In fact we know the TIF process and criteria well (via our work in CO). TIF does not advance the spread of teaching expertise in and out cyberspace. It does not promote teachers as community organizers and education game developers. It does not suggest that the highest paid anybody in the school system would be a a practicing teacher. Forging ahead!
