Thanks for this thoughtful analysis. It is VERY interesting that there are such disparities between the views of teachers and building level supervisors. Of course, the principal would be more interested in overall student progress represented in large groups of scores (did they all pass? how many failed?) versus the teacher view which is more geared to the individual student learning gains - which we see as being less than stellar when the focus is on standardized answers represented by multiple-choice questioning.
