A beautifully-written and thoughtful letter, Renee.

It's worth noting that the Department listened to educators' advice on Race to the Top and made substantive changes. Hard-core reformers have protested, arguing that "the establishment" influenced the Department's decisions. But the forget that the "establishment" includes experienced and accomplished educators who know what they're talking about. As you argue so well, such people deserve a much, much stronger voice. For far too long, experience has been treated like a disqualification.....
