Oh, Renee. Thanks so much for making me feel as if I am part of a long tradition--and a contemporary group of thinkers and believers in one of America's best ideas: public education.

Exquisite set of quotes--but the one I like best is yours. Will share widely. Happy Valentine's Day, my friend.

TeacherSabrina

Amen, Teacher Renee! So right on.

David B. Cohen

Wonderful collection of ideas, and yes, I agree that my kind of patriotism is about valuing all of our fellow Americans, helping rather than punishing.

Susan

And what kind of nation are we if we do not love our children--all of our children--enough to invest in their future?

Lou Jackson

Good thoughts on public ed. I could not agree more.

And the choir said, Amen. (Thanks for all your comments, just wish we could get the message out to more people).

Renee, You are so on point! God Bless you and your family. You make a difference. I have been keeping up with your blog since I discovered it. How refreshing and thoughtful. I am a former teacher who simply can not even bring myself to think about entering the classroom again. I am praying for direction on how I can use my skills to bring about change in education which focuses on family and creating environmental elements that give all children a chance to be educated so they can navigate and affect world systems. Finally, YOU GO ON TELLING THE TRUTH!

TeachMoore

Thank you for your comment. Ive heard from so many great teachers who have been driven from the classroom by conditions that could and should be changed.
