"Didn't do the heat unit"? Isn't that what PLT'ing is all about, and what about common assessments? I'm confused, since you are present at conferences, and your colleagues ignore that??

oops, take out "are" and make that "preSENT" as in - verb. yikes.

Curriculum boils down to three questions:
1. What do you say you are doing?
2. Are you doing what you say you are doing?
3. How well are you doing it?

Mike Schmoker, in _Focus_ argues that curriculum should be simplified, condensed.

Definitely worth a read.

Listen, Ginny - just because I know what is SUPPOSED to happen in a PLC doesnt mean that my own learning team doesnt have hiccups!

A part of my own personal struggles has been that for the last 5 years, I havent spent two consecutive years on a team with the same people. Ive either been bounced from team to team or seen the composition of the team that Im on change dramatically. That makes it damn near impossible to move forward in any kind of responsible direction. Were constantly stopping and restarting, trying to build relationships with each other first and then trying to set some shared agreements about where we need to go.

This year is the first year in a LONG while that my team is the same as it was last year -- and I think were finally starting to make some headway towards answering important questions. But thats only after last year, which was a collaborative slugfest.

Long story short: This work is never easy -- and it only gets harder when youre not working with the same people year in and year out.

Any of this make sense?
Bill
